Hydrate enough

This one seems like a no-brainer, but you'd be surprised how many people don't drink enough water throughout the day. Staying properly hydrated is crucial for keeping your skin looking its best. Make sure you're drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day – more if you can.

But also, try and moisturize your skin with DIY or store-bought products. This is especially important in the winter months when the air is drier and the temperatures are harsher. However, this doesn't mean you should ditch your skincare routine come summertime. You'll need it then, too.

Treat allergies

If you suffer from allergies or any other kind of skin condition, it's important that you treat them accordingly. Allergies can cause inflammation and dryness, which will lead to a worsening of your skin condition. Make sure you're taking the necessary steps to control your allergies so they don't take over your life – and your skin.

Have enough sleep

We know – this one is easier said than done. But getting enough sleep is absolutely essential for keeping your skin looking its best. When you don't get enough rest, it shows on your face in the form of dark circles and puffiness and that groggy, Twilight-era Kristen Stewart-like look. So do your best to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep every night. It's absolutely vital you do so!

Eat healthily

This one goes hand-in-hand with drinking enough water. Eating a healthy and balanced diet is essential for keeping your skin looking its best. Make sure you're getting plenty of meat, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Limit your intake of processed foods, sugary drinks, and alcohol. Reserve those for special occasions!
