A green space creates an ideal environment for a better night's sleep. The colour green represents springtime, freshness and hope – things that are positive and give a sense of renewal. It's surrounded by the ideas of refreshment and peace. Green helps people to feel rested and secure which are two feelings you want to get from a bedroom. A green room can instantly relax and calm you and that's exactly how you want to feel before going to bed.
We think you're going to love our inspiration for a green bedroom design to improve your sleep space. From adding plants to having an accent wall or using different shades of green, you can pick out as many of ideas as you like.
When it comes to the bed frame for a green bedroom, there are different options you could go for. Perhaps you want a natural wood for a nature-feel and to contrast with the green tones. Another choice could be a poster bed in black as an accent feature. Of course, we went straight for a completely green bed.
Our bed frame pick is this dark green one with an upholstered headboard. It gives a boutique hotel feel and brings a sense of elegance into the room. The vertical lines on the headboard gives an illusion elongation so your bedroom walls can feel bigger than they are. Another feature of this bed is the storage space underneath. There's plenty of room for you to keep your bits and bobs out of sight, hiding away the things that don't match the green bedroom scheme. This will definitely become the focal point of the bedroom.
For a green bedroom, you could pick out green bedding but this might be difficult to find a green shade that matches the bed frame. We think it's best to opt for a white/ivory neutral colour to balance out the shades of green.
As we previously mentioned, ivory is probably best to pair with your green bed frame. This set is so beautiful and delicate creating a lovely contrast. It will give your bedroom the luxurious touch. Included in this set is a duvet cover and two pillowcases so you'll bed will almost be ready to be slept it. You can get a fitted sheet and flat sheet in the same collection if you would like to make sure everything matches.
We kept the soft furnishings to a minimum because we feel like the furniture is really going to make a statement. You want to make sure you're not making the space overwhelming and filled with unnecessary products. Just a cushion or two will do.
This cushion comes in many colours, most of which will suit the colour scheme, and we have chosen the green one – obviously. The forest green cushion would match perfectly with the bed frame we picked out. It has a velvet texture to make the bed extra fancy and it's more towards muted greens, but it will still pop against the ivory pillows. It's the ideal size to rest front and centre of your pillows and to give you a little more comfort when sitting up in bed.
Our favourite part of the green bedroom ideas. This is where you can make the bedroom more fun and bring your personality in with the pieces. Add pops of green throughout the bedroom with the bigger furniture and keep the rest of the space neutral.
We could have decided to find bedside tables using natural woods, however, we wanted something a bit different. This is a bedside table that uses contrasting shades with gold accents for warming colours and a deep green for cooler colours. It's big enough for keeping all your sleep essentials and a selection of books for the evening. There are two drawers for all of this and more, plus you have a large surface space on top to have a lamp and your current nightly read.
You're not going to be short on storage with our green bedroom ideas. We've given you the ottoman bed, bedside table and now this ottoman. This would sit beautifully at the end of your bed or it could stand alone against a wall. It's a great addition to give you another place to sit down and read. Otherwise it creates a space for you to keep any spare blankets, especially if they don't work with your aesthetic. You can open the lid and take them out as and when you need to.
This chair was too gorgeous not to include. You could put this in a cosy nook of the bedroom as a place to unwind, or you can have it at your dressing table for a comfortable seat to do your hair and makeup. The curved back adds softness to the room with the upholstered design co-ordinating with the design of the bed frame. The legs of the chair have a gold finish which then ties in well with the bedside tables we picked out. A modern luxury style.
Why not add a couple of smaller green decorations to your room? Even if you don't want to go full green, you could just use the decor to incorporate green instead. Or take the opportunity to go wild with the various shades of green.
The mirror of dreams. An incredible mint green-tinted glass mirror that screams beauty, elegance and glamour. You can hang this above your dressing table for the perfect place to get ready in the morning and unwind at night. The lovely curved design makes it work so well with the other pieces in the bedroom. This mirror really speaks for itself. It's so simple, yet it can brighten up any room. We would also recommend this to those who have a smaller bedroom because it's large in size so can help to make the room feel bigger.
The finishing touches to the decor is this lamp that will complete your bedroom. The cylindrical base combines green with neutral and earthy tones. It's topped off with a forest green lamp shade and gold metal detailing. The lamp is the perfect match to everything else in our green bedroom ideas so there's no reason to not love this one. There are so many shades on this one lamp that it works with every product we have suggested throughout.
In a green bedroom, the flooring would be best staying neutral but with the walls you have the option to change them. You could use green paint to create a green feature wall or you might like having four green walls. Another possibility is to have some fun green wallpaper for the feature wall. Otherwise, having a couple of prints on the wall will look great against a white wall.
Every bedroom deserves some wall art to jazz up the wall space – plain walls can look a bit boring, especially if you have a large room. So, here are our choices:
Gold Moon Green Art Print – Combining green and gold makes the artwork you need to hang on your wall. If you keep the walls neutral then you'll find this print will stand out. You could even order it in an extra large size to put above your bed.Gold Moon Green Art Print – Combining green and gold makes the artwork you need to hang on your wall. Gold and Green Waves Art Print – For a bold statement piece of art, we would recommend this one. It has curved waves that suit the aesthetic of the furniture made up of green and gold. You could pair this as a set with the print above or keep it on its own.
There is so much potential with a green room and it's always a good colour scheme to work with. Not only is it one of the best colours to help you relax but it also works with several colours. From sunny yellow, deep blue, blush pink to grey. There's a colour for every shade of green, whether that's lime green or emerald green.
