Does the Simba Hybrid 3-in-1 Duvet come in different versions?
There are a couple of other choices of duvets that are similar to this one. However, they are designed with other customers in mind. The other two duvets are both hybrid designs like the 3-in-1 but there are some slight differences.
Simba Hybrid Duvet
The standard Simba Hybrid Duvet uses the same materials as the 3-in-1 to give it breathability and a quality product. The difference is this duvet is an all-rounder, at 10.5 tog, so it can be used by anyone who is looking to cosy up every night. It can be used all year round by most people – unless you get hot, then you might find it too thick for the warmer nights.
Simba Summer Duvet
This duvet is a lighter summer duvet with a 4.5 tog rating. It is still soft to the touch and comfortable to snuggle up with, but it is a more lightweight design. The Simba Summer Duvet is more suited for that particular season or for those who are always getting hot during the night, even on the colder nights.

Simba Renew clusters
The Simba Hybrid 3-in-1 uses their Simba Renew fibres for a super soft and durable filling. It is a sustainable alternative to a feather and down duvet. The fluffy filling is made up of recycled PET bottle fibres. The fibres are combed into airy clusters to create a soft and breathable material. This is combined with modal (from natural beech wood pulp) that helps with wicking away moisture from the body.
Stratos Heat Control Technology
The Stratos technology is designed to keep you cool. Having this side of the duvet closest to your body will allow the fabric to sense your body temperature and react efficiently by dispersing the excess heat. So, if you share with a partner and one of you is a hot sleeper, they can use the lower Tog and the colder sleeper can use the 7 Tog.
Piping design
If you think there’s a chance you will get confused between the two duvets, Simba has thought this through to make it simple. You can look at the card and it tells you how to spot the difference. For the 3.5 Tog, it has blue binding whereas the 7 Tog has grey binding. To spot the Stratos side with ease, look for the side with the cube patterning or find the Simba label – the side with the Simba logo facing up is normal and the side with ‘Stratos’ is the cooling side.
Review of the Simba Hybrid 3-in-1 Duvet
The Simba Hybrid 3-in-1 Duvet is very comfortable to snuggle into and I found it to be gentle on your skin. So, if you choose to use it with or without a duvet cover, you will still get a good night’s sleep. The duvet does rustle slightly which can be a little disturbing for some… by some, I mean me… it’s disturbing for me.
The lighter of the two duvets is 3.5 Tog and very thin which is great for warmer nights. What’s more, it has Stratos technology that also helps to keep you cool too. Those who are hot sleepers will have no trouble with sticky legs or an uncomfortable night’s sleep when they use this.
The 7 Tog duvet is a little thicker and is great throughout the year, depending on what type of sleeper you are. Again, it has the Stratos technology side to keep you cool.
Together the two duvets make up the same Tog as their hybrid duvet. Both duvets have poppers which are super effortless to pop together and separate. It’ll take a lot to separate them in your sleep – I would be surprised if you do – but if you have a cover over it then it’ll be extremely difficult to accidentally undo them.

What we like about the Hybrid 3-in-1 Duvet
There are many things to like about the Hybrid Duvet and we've narrowed it down to just a few that we think are worth noting. It's a quality duvet so there was bound to be a lot to like. Here are some of them:
- Many of the smaller Simba products come in a reusable bag and it’s the same for this duvet. It’s ideal for storing away the duvet you don’t need for the season. For example, in the Summer you can store away the thicker duvet while you use the thinner one. The bag has zips on three sides so it even makes it easy to switch the duvets as and when you need to. Included in the bag is a card to tell you what each layer is suitable for, allowing you to get the best use out of it.
- This 3-in-1 duvet is low maintenance. You can wash it at 40º and tumble dry on low heat thoroughly until the filling is completely dry. Just make sure you don’t get it dry-cleaned.
- The design is ideal for everyone. It is a great duvet to have in the spare room as any guest can change it to suit their needs. But if you have it for yourself, it's easily adjustable for the different seasons. What's more, it's easy to differentiate the separate duvets with the piping design.
What we didn’t like about the Hybrid 3-in-1 Duvet
A duvet can't be suitable for everyone, there will be some things that people will dislike about it. We've picked out a couple of things that are not so good.
- First up is the price tag. There are many cheaper alternatives that you could choose from. This one is quite expensive compared to them which can put some people off buying it. That's not to say it isn't worth the money but it can be a deciding factor.
- The button fastening design is clever but can become a little annoying if you choose not to use a duvet cover. There'll be gaps in between each button that will be noticeable whilst you sleep. Obviously, the easy solution for that is to use a duvet cover. Over time these buttons can loosen a bit so you might find a few of them un-pop in the night. Don't worry, it's not enough to completely un-pop them all and disturb your sleep.
- Lastly, the trial and guarantee isn't the longest which can be expected with accessories. However, it would be ideal to have longer so you can try the adjustments and see what makes you comfortable. As well as trialling in different temperatures.

Delivery – When you order from Simba, you can expect the smaller products, like this duvet, to be delivered within three working days. However, for those who have purchased a mattress as well, you will receive them on the same delivery date – which is how my order arrived.

A 3.5 tog duvet is super lightweight and perfect for warmer nights, 7 tog will be suitable for most of the year and the 10.5 tog is great for colder nights or all year round depending on the sleeper.
This is a good alternative to the Simba one because it is a slightly more versatile duvet with the option of an even lower tog rating.

Is the Hybrid 3-in-1 Duvet eco-friendly or sustainable?
When it comes to environmental solutions, Simba claims to have carbon-neutral delivery and aims to be Net Zero by 2030. But in terms of their products, the reusable bag for the duvet is made from recycled materials. On the side, it reads, “We’ve made this bag out of recycled materials. Feel free to use it as a storage bag for your out-of-season duvet.” Rather than wasting packaging that you’ll just throw in the bin, they provide you with packaging you can get continual use from.
Always remember, reduce, reuse, recycle. Reusing something is even better than recycling which is why we love this idea.
As for the materials used, Simba has their Simba Renew fibres that we have previously mentioned. This is a sustainable choice made up of recycled PET bottle fibres. Also, the cotton cover is made of cotton from the Better Cotton Initiative.

Is it worth forking out for this duvet? If you’re a hot sleeper, it’s probably worth it… but what if you’re not?
I’m not a hot sleeper so being cool isn’t a deciding factor for me, I like to snuggle up so only the highest tog will suit me. Although, it would be nice to flip the duvet to the Stratos side to keep me cool in the Summer whilst still being able to feel cosy. However, if you’re a consistent hot sleeper, this can be a game-changer and well worth the money for you.
Some of us find it difficult to have the perfect duvet to survive every season but with the 3-in-1 duvet, you’re likely to have a solution. It might take some testing to find what works for you in varying temperatures, but it’ll be worth it in the end. Just note that it is fairly expensive compared to other duvets, although you are getting three duvets in one.
So, if you already have a quality Simba mattress or the Simba Hybrid Pillow then you may as well add this Simba duvet to the collection. The comfiest and cosiest night's sleep you will have.
