Simba Hybrid pillow is a true all-rounder, designed to suit everyone with its ability to support any type of sleeper through the adjustable loft, optimal thermal comfort and maximum airflow.
We used Simba pillows to achieve a good night's sleep by elevating our head or neck height to a comfortable level, reducing the amount of stress on our neck and spine.
Which features of the Simba Hybrid pillow set it apart from a feather pillow and other pillows available on the market that we have tested? Let's take a look.
Simba's unique selling point has always been using astronaut-inspired technologies to improve temperature regulation and offer a great night's sleep.
They have developed their own phase change materials (PCM) from Outlast technology, initially designed for NASA, to absorb, store and release heat for optimal comfort. This phase change technology is called Stratos.
The Simba pillow uses Stratos technology to absorb and move the heat away from your body to cool you down. However, the technology uses this excess heat during colder nights to keep you warm as it slowly releases heat as you sleep.
The two halves of the Simba pillow are different, with one side containing the Stratos technology, identifiable by a simple blue stripe.
Underneath the temperature-regulated top cover is a layer of breathable, cool fibres which provide extra cooling. Mineral-enriched fibres aid temperature regulation, while hypoallergenic materials help those suffering from allergens.
The lightweight and breathable Nanocube technology set the Simba Hybrid pillow apart from other pillows. Nanocubes are not made of polyurethane, which is the primary material used in all-foam pillows, but of open-cell foam. Simba calls these bits of foam Nanocubes, and they make up the core of the pillow.
The Visco-elastic open-cell foam has several tiny air-filled cells that help contour your head as you sleep, allowing you to find the optimal sleeping position.
In addition, they also provide a greater level of bounce, meaning the pillow quickly reverts back to its natural shape when not in use. As a result, they upgrade the feeling of sleeping on a feather or down pillow.
This structure makes the Nanocubes highly breathable as they do not obstruct air flow like a single layer of memory foam does. In addition, you can add or remove Nanocubes to adjust the pillow's loft to find your optimal sleep height and firmness.
Simba has added a thick ventilation strip around the middle of the pillow to further aid airflow. This works alongside the Stratos layer, cool fibres, breathable cotton and Nanocubes to ensure hot air isn't trapped inside the pillow unnecessarily. It releases hot air to cool your head during the summer and warm it during the winter, providing a perfect night's sleep all year round
Meanwhile, a durable, hypoallergenic microfibre fill is located between the Nanocubes and the bottom of the pillow. This microfibre fill provides additional comfort, even softer than the mineral-enriched fibres beneath the Stratos layer.
The bottom half of the pillow is made from Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) sourced cotton producers. As well as the usual characteristics you'd associate with soft cotton, such as breathability, durability and hypoallergenic properties, BCI-sourced cotton is environmentally and vegan-friendly as no animal products are used in the manufacture or farming of the materials.
The BCI also promotes environmentally sustainable cotton farming methods and better working practices for cotton farmers.
Open-cell foam in Simba pillow is CertiPUR certified, guaranteeing that no heavy metals or dyes were used during production. CertiPUR is one of the most respected certificates in the sleep industry.
In addition, the pillow Simba has created is free of TCPP, phosphate, parabens and other environmentally unfriendly pollutants. This means that the Simba hybrid pillow meets all British fire safety standards, providing you with peace of mind.
We've looked at the outstanding features of the Simba Hybrid pillow; but what's it like to sleep on?
The pillow has two sides, one of which incorporates the temperature regulating Stratos technology, defined by the blue stripe. This layer has the phase change technology applied and will cool you as you sleep. The bottom layer marked with the grey stripe is the BCI-sourced cotton cover that is durable and provides a soft surface to sleep on.
The middle layer comprises the Nanocubes, providing the pillow with outstanding comfort. These Nanocubes can be added and removed to adjust the loft and make it the perfect height to support any sleeping position.
This adds to a super-comfortable pillow with excellent breathability without the disturbed airflow of a regular foam pillow.
In addition, the Simba Hybrid pillow comes with a 1-year manufacturer's warranty, which could be better.
Apart from the price and underwhelming trial and warranty, this product doesn't have any performance issues we'd like to address or could help you solve. Feel free to expect sleep that'll rock your world.
If Simba Hybrid pillow doesn't tick all the boxes for you, here are two other foam-based pillows to consider.
Nectar is a well-known brand that has been part of the UK market for years. The Tencel cooling fabric and Nectar Premier pillow cover will keep you cool throughout the year.
Meanwhile, height and firmness provide good support and pressure relief. Nectar pillows come in pairs, making them an excellent choice for couples.

Geltex is a cooling and more responsive alternative to memory foam. It is a medium-firm pillow, around seven on a scale of 1 to 10 for firmness, so it works well for side and back sleeping.
Some stomach sleepers may find it comfortable, but it is unlikely to satisfy everyone who sleeps on their front.
Silentnight Geltex pillow is hypoallergenic, making it an excellent choice for allergy sufferers who want an escape from dust mites and other allergens.
You can further enhance the feeling of relief after a long and stressful sleep by purchasing the Emma Hug weighted blanket.
As well as providing outstanding comfort, studies have shown that weighted blankets can significantly positively impact people suffering from anxiety, depression and other mental health conditions. Emma Hug blanket weighs 7 kg.
Several features of the Simba pillow make it better than other options on the market.
The temperature control technology and breathability are the best on the market and fully use Simba's market-leading technology.
In addition, the top-level foam is excellent, so the pillow retains its shape, comfort and overall quality over long periods.
Other excellent features are the two sides of the pillow, the adjustable loft, and being 100% hypoallergenic, sustainable and eco-friendly.
The sleep experience makes you feel like you are sleeping on a combination of down and memory foam, even though the vegan-friendly pillow doesn't contain any bird down.
Although Simba Hybrid pillow is expensive, it is well worth searching for Simba Hybrid pillow deals for the additional levels of comfort you'll receive.
