If you're looking for your winter duvet, look no further. The Dorma duvet ticks that box. It's ideal for anyone who gets very cold at night and needs something to keep their body temperature warmer. Not only does it have the usual purpose like other duvets but it's great for those who suffer from allergies and want to wake up feeling fresh every morning.
The answer to this one is very obvious. You're going to want to use it to keep warm and have no chance of shivering in the night. The TOG rating can be confusing to understand but this is one of the higher ratings so you're going to want it use it for the seasons as the temperature drops. It's perfect for wrapping yourself up in. In short, its use is:
You'll be pleased to know that the Dorma duvet does come in other versions – those versions are of various tog ratings. So, if you love one of them then you can get a different one for each season with the confidence that you'll love those too. There are four other duvets to choose from.
First up is a 4.5 tog duvet. This is the one you need in the height of summer when you're looking for a cool duvet. It's thin and lightweight which is perfect for the warmer weather.
The next rating is a 7.5 tog duvet. You'll probably find this to be most useful in the springtime as it's coming into Summer or even as we start to come out of Summer. It's slightly warmer than the 4.5 tog rating.
The average tog rating is a 10.5 tog duvet. It can be used all year round depending on the type of sleeper you are – obviously not so practical for hot sleepers. However, it has the potential to be an all-season duvet.
Before a 15-tog duvet, you will get the 13.5-tog duvet which we're reviewing in this article. A 15 tog duvet is for the coldest of sleepers. A true Winter duvet.
You can find out more about the different TOG ratings in our duvet TOG guide.
Duvets can seem quite similar and a lot of them can be, but we want to talk about the specific features of this one and how they change your sleep experience. From the inside out, it has been designed to create a comfortable sleep environment and you will only want something that can improve your sleep. We've picked a few things that are worth mentioning.
Polyester isn't always seen as the best option for filling as it isn't the most breathable. However, the synthetic filling is made from recycled fibre which is better for the environment. Aside from this, it retains heat to keep you warm in the Winter. The hollow spiral fibre makes the duvet lightweight but it traps the warmth, making it better for colder nights.
The quilting stitch of the synthetic duvets is great for an even distribution of the fibres. This gives it a high-quality feel that will last a long time. It's completed with a bound edge finish for extra durability.
This duvet has a fairly high thread count which means you can expect good quality. It's covered with a crisp cotton handle that's super soft to the touch and can even be used without a duvet cover. It's pretty much a non-removable cotton cover. The casing provides a natural barrier against bedbugs and dust mites so you can always feel fresh and clean with the anti-allergy duvet.
Another great feature that deserves a mention is the fact that you can machine wash and tumble dry it. Not many duvets are tumble-dryer-safe and will need to be hung up to dry instead. So, maintenance of the Dorma duvet becomes that little bit easier. Whether you use it with or without a cover, it can still be washed and tumble-dried to keep up with the cleanliness.
During the reviewing process, I found that the duvet had a cool touch to it which wasn't enjoyable to start with.
However, once you snuggle up in it, you'll soon feel the warmth from it and it's actually a really cosy duvet to sleep with.
It helps that it's a thick tog and quite weighty as this will make it practical during the cold weather – achieving its overall purpose.
Being a good product towards the end of the year does mean that it isn't so good for the warmer months or for those who are hot sleepers. We wouldn't suggest using the Dorma Full Forever Duvet to keep you cool.
We're going to pick out a few of the things we liked about the duvet and the reasons we would recommend it to you. Here they are:
It's not going to be suitable for everyone so there will be some things that we dislike and the same with others.
While the Full Forever Duvet has a great price tag and is the ideal product for Autumn and Winter, it can't be for everyone. Before making any decision, it's always a good idea to compare to other options to find what is best for you.
We have picked out another product that might be more suited to those who aren't a fan of the Dorma duvet.
It's a more expensive choice but it's suitable all year round so you're sure to get your money's worth.
And since having an all-season duvet means you don't have to buy two or more separate duvets, it will be worth the money for some.
Plus, thanks to the Stratos technology, the duvet can regulate a comfortable temperature throughout the night. This means that hot sleepers should be able to rest easy even during summer.
Not to mention that the duvet is also hypoallergenic – so, allergy-sufferers should also be all set to have a good night's sleep.
And seeing how this is a premium duvet, both the soft feel of the duvet as well as its durability are pretty top-notch. However, we will note that it's odd for a premium duvet to only have a 1-year warranty.

As we briefly mentioned above, this duvet is part of Dunelm's Conscious Choice range which features products that have been made with more sustainable materials. There are two key materials used – recycled polyester and responsibly sourced cotton.
“This product is made from certified recycled polyester from waste, like plastic bottles or manufacturing off-cuts. Recycled polyester helps the movement towards a more circular economy, reducing waste going to landfill. Compared with virgin polyester, recycled polyester helps conserve crude oil reserves during fibre production.”
“This product uses responsibly sourced cotton. Cotton sourced responsibly by Dunelm supports farmers and their communities through promoting less environmentally impactful growing methods and more equitable working conditions.”
Every product goes through a testing process so we can find out how it performs and how it compares to other products. To generalise, each test includes the following three steps:
To make things a bit clearer, here's how we test the durability of a duvet:
After testing the Dorma Full Forever Duvet, we were content. Not blown away but not disappointed either.
If you want to stay as warm as possible during the winter months, this duvet is going to get the job done.
And while it's a bit chilly to the touch at first, it quickly warms up and keeps you nice and cosy.
That being said, you'll need either one of the different versions of this duvet or a completely different duvet if you want to stay cool during the warmer months – especially if you're a hot sleeper.
And while the casing of the duvet is very nice and the entire duvet is machine-washable, some might prefer a simple removable cover.
All in all, a decent winter duvet that's also eco-friendly and reasonably priced.
We give it a 6.5/10.
Just to summarise some of the key questions that get asked, we've put together the answers that you should know. In case you've missed this information throughout the article, here are some of the important FAQs.
