Overall, this mattress topper has been delightful. It's a bit expensive, but we think that it more than makes up for the price with its premium-level materials and effective design. In terms of temperature regulation, it has had an excellent performance, keeping things nice and cool even when the bed was placed in a stuffy room.
The memory foam offered sufficient support and stress relief.
In our experience, our deep sleep has been positively affected. There were no body aches upon waking up and no discomfort during the night.
Aspects like motion transfer and edge support were a bit more difficult to gauge, as those primarily rely on the mattress rather than the topper. However, when placed on an Emma mattress, things ran smoothly and the edge support was more than sufficient. Needless to say, Emma seems to be offering some premium-level products.

What we like about the Emma Premium Topper
- The temperature regulation of this topper is pretty good and keeps you comfortable through the night. This is from the success of the ThermoSync layer and the breathable cover.
- It's good that the cover easily zips off to make it easier than others to clean, as not all mattress toppers come with a removable cover.
- Lastly, we like that you get a 10-year guarantee and 100-night trial which is what you'd expect for a mattress. This proves that it is durable and of high quality to last just as long as one of their mattresses.
What we didn’t like about the Emma Premium Topper
- It is a little expensive for a topper. There are cheaper alternatives available if you're looking for a temporary fix.
- It isn't the most firm foam mattress topper but it is supportive. We would definitely prefer this one if we're looking for a topper that can provide comfort.
- We didn't like the texture of the cover to begin with as it was initially uncomfortable. However, once you pop a fitted sheet over the top it feels much better.
The common problems with the Emma Premium Topper & how to solve them
The most common problem people might have with the Emma topper is the lack of support. And the best way to solve this problem is to make sure you also have a good mattress underneath. Personally, I'd go for the NextGen hybrid mattress, as hybrid mattresses will keep things nice and cool while also adding some firmness through the box springs. Plus, if you're going for an Emma mattress, there's already a precedent for the level of quality you can expect.

Although the Emma topper does sport an OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, it doesn't seem to be doing much else in terms of green initiatives:
- The substances used in production are all safe
- The production is done within the UK, leading to a lesser carbon footprint
- Polyester is used frequently, which is non-biodegradable.
Aside from this, we were able to find next to nothing about Emma's green initiative. So, they could definitely do a lot better in this field.
Overall impressions of the product after the testing
Overall, the Emma topper was an amazing product as far as we're concerned. When paired with something like the Emma NextGen Mattress, we experienced a great deal of comfort and had no issues with overheating. And even when we didn't put it on the best mattress at hand, the results were satisfactory. Our only issue came about when placing it on a very firm or old mattress, as even the Emma topper can't salvage that situation.
The King size was big enough for all of our mattresses and the foam didn't have any major off-gassing issues. Finally, the cost, although on the more expensive side of things, didn't seem too egregious. Overall, testing went well and the Emma topper gets a golden star from us.
