Now, letβs take a look at some of the features that Fogarty Soft Touch 15 Tog Duvet has to its name.
As with any other duvet, Fogarty Soft Touch 15 Tog Duvet comes without a removable cover. Duvets are almost exclusively a one-piece item, that youβd put into a separate, standalone cover or a sheet if you wanted to.
However, if you don't want to shop around for a separate duvet cover, you'll be pleased to know that this one comes with a soft, 100% polyester microfibre cover.
Due to its synthetic nature, the cover is very pleasant on the skin, doesn't absorb moisture or odours, is highly durable, and is quite good at retaining heat, making it ideal for cold nights.
Duvets work by trapping your bodyβs heat and warming you up with it. The higher the Tog rating, the better the duvet will be at retaining heat and keeping you warm.
This one, in particular, has a Tog rating that is ideal for the winter months. At 15 Tog, Fogarty Soft Touch 15 Tog Duvet is as insulating as possible. Many would even argue that 15 Tog duvet (or even 13.5 Tog duvet) is too much since we're rarely sleeping in rooms that cold. To a point, we agree, but β to each their own. Weβre sure many customers will find a good use for a 15 Tog duvet such as this one.
The insides of the Fogarty duvet are generously filled with soft, polyester hollowfibre filling for great insulation and added comfort. It also contains recycled fibre, so we guess you could say it is a tad eco-friendly, as well.
All in all, synthetic fillings are a great substitute for natural fillings like feather and down or wool. They're easily washable, most of the time, they don't cause allergies, and they rarely ever absorb moisture and odours.
Most importantly, they do a great job of retaining body heat, which is basically all that a duvet needs to do.
As weβve said, synthetic fibres are easily washable, which means that this entire duvet can be machine-washable, as well as tumble dried on low heat settings.
Synthetic hollowfibre fillings dry out easily, and they seldomly clump or bunch, so you shouldnβt have any worries about ruining your duvet this way.
However, keep in mind that King size and Super King size duvets probably wonβt fit a regular consumer washing machine, so you will probably have to visit a local Laundromat.
Luckily, the King Arthur mattress has handles on both sides, so you won't have to struggle when it's time to rotate this 34 cm deep beast of a bed.
Now, letβs hear our review and final verdict.
The first thing that struck us was just how comfortable this duvet was for a 15 Tog duvet. It wasn't snug or heavy β weighing only around 4 kilos. Now, we know Tog has nothing to do with weight, but when we were under it, it didn't feel like we were lying under something that should be getting you this warm β so kudos to that.
The design of this one is excellent as far as weβre concerned. It is simple and elegant, as all bedding should be.
The cover feels very premium and soft, almost silk-like, so we guess you could say that the name was appropriate.
The only thing we didnβt like was the fact that you were limited to only using this one a few months a year, but you canβt really hold a 15 Tog duvet accountable for that. It was intentionally made that way.
The biggest issue (but not really an issue at all) is the fact you're getting a limited amount of time to use this duvet. Letβs be honest β you're not going to need a 15 Tog duvet that often. In fact, as long as you keep your house or a flat relatively warm – a duvet this warm will be an overkill.
How 'bout this fluffy thing as an alternative?
If you're looking for a plump and fluffy, eco-friendly duvet, the Silentnight Deep Sleep Duvet is a lovely option.
This duvet is generously filled with hollowfibre, which is obtained from recycled materials. It's also hypoallergenic and machine washable. Plus, it comes with a five-year warranty and you can get it at virtually every TOG rating imaginable.

What makes Fogarty Soft Touch 15 Tog Duvet truly special is that it is one of the seldom products that actually meet and exceed expectations. If you are simply looking for a duvet that you'll use during the winter, because you have a summer duvet or a light blanket β you won't go wrong choosing this one.
It is warm, comfortable and most importantly β durable. Weβre sure youβll be able to get years of quality sleep out of this one.
To top all of that off, it is one of the most competitively priced duvets on the market, so not only is this one a worthy investment, but it is also a very reasonable one.
We always do our best to test extensively test the products before we review them, and that process always consists of:
Considering this one's filled with recycled polyester fibre, we can safely say that it is eco-friendly in that regard. On the other hand, we do have a virgin polyester duvet cover, which isn't the most sustainable or eco-friendly choice out there.
So, 50-50 on this one.
Overall, we were very pleased with the Fogarty Soft Touch 15 Tog duvet.
It is a solid mid-range option for those chilly winter nights.
It has performed better than many other similar or even some more expensive products that we've tried in the past and if you have the need for it – we'd definitely recommend it.
Our testers gave it a rating of 8/10.
Yes. As a matter of fact, this duvet is ideal for wintertime.
No, you canβt. The Fogarty Soft Touch 15 Tog duvet will be too hot for spring and summer, possibly even autumn.
No. The hollowfibre fillings are equally distributed across the whole duvet so that they won't clump or bunch even after washing or tumble-drying.
