Not only will dust mites and other nasties not be able to live in your mattress, but you'll also be less likely to wake up with a stuffy nose or sneeze in the middle of the night.

7-zone support & motion control

Multi-zonal springs provide different levels of support where you need it most – your head, shoulders, hips, back and legs. This results in better spinal alignment and superior motion isolation.
Each of the 1,500 individually nestled premium pocket springs moves independently from one another, so you won't feel your partner tossing and turning all night long. And, if there's anything left to muffle and absorb – a high-density foam base will pick it up!

Bamboo-infused foam

In order to deliver less hot and less smelly memory foam, Panda's engineers cooked up a bamboo-infused version. This not only gives you a cooler night's sleep but also ensures that any funky odours never reach your bedroom due to bamboo's natural deodorising properties.

Review of Panda Hybrid Bamboo mattress

If our experience has taught us anything, that's that Panda London's the place for high-quality products – from bamboo and memory foam pillows to lightweight duvets. And finally, we got a full-sized mattress to test and review.

So, how did it perform?

Objectively speaking, this medium-firm to firm (depending on your body weight) mattress is on another level in terms of quality, comfort and support it offers. But, since everyone's different, your impressions may vary. Nonetheless, we think this one stuck a perfect balance between support and comfort and would be ideal for most types of sleepers.

When it comes to breathability, Panda took a big step in the right direction by fusing bamboo with its open-cell memory foam. This not only resulted in a cooler and more comfortable night's sleep but also sidestepped “industry-standard charcoal-infused memory foam” to achieve similar results.

However, what really took us by surprise was the level of motion isolation and pressure relief the Bamboo Hybrid provides.

The seven-zoned pocket springs do an excellent job of keeping your pressure points unbothered while also providing next-to-no motion transfer – no matter how much you or your partner tosses and turns.

What's even more surprising is that it does all that without compromising on bounce and responsiveness. On the contrary, the springs provide just enough “give” to make extracurricular bed activities pleasant and not-at-all taxing.

All in all, we think it's an excellent choice for pretty much anyone, with deep enough pockets, because this level of quality comes at a premium.

What we like about Panda Hybrid Bamboo mattress

• The mattress is comfortable and supportive enough for almost everyone to rest on
• Bamboo cover and bamboo memory foam do an excellent job of drawing the heat away keeping things nice and cool
• Motion isolation and pressure and pain relief are truly superb with this one.

What we didn’t like about Panda Hybrid Bamboo mattress

• While most stomach sleepers will appreciate a slightly firmer feel, lightweight side snoozers might prefer something softer.
• The organic bamboo fabric cover's super easy to get off and wash, but we can't say the same thing for putting it back on.

The common problems with Panda Hybrid Bamboo mattress & how to solve them

Honestly, we can't find anything actually wrong with this mattress. Sure, it's expensive, but it's not overpriced.

If we had to nitpick, though, we would say that the it is a bit tedious trying to put the bamboo cover back on after you wash it. But, that's really a minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things.
Also, if you'd like to avoid doing that on the regular – you can. At 27 cm, this puppy will get seamlessly snuggled by any mattress protector out there.

What makes this product better than some other similar ones?

We've kind of already hinted at this, but the fact that Panda stuck to their bamboo ways and didn't decide to go with charcoal or gel infusion to try and cool down their mattress is pretty darn cool. (Pun not intended, but we're rolling with it.)

Not only did this move result in a more eco-friendly product, but the bamboo's moisture-wicking properties did a fantastic job at keeping things BOTH dry and cool!

How did we test the product?

Testing a mattress isn't as easy as it seems, and it involves a lot more than just sleeping on the job. In fact, all of our tests consist of the following three:

• Visual inspection
• Hands-on inspection
• Measured tests.

To further explain, here's how we'd go about testing the breathability and temperature control of a mattress:

• Measuring the temperature of the mattress surface before and after testing.
• Use thermal imagery to identify potential problem zones.
• Control and monitor room temperature to ensure precise tests.
• Rely on personal impressions and experiences for additional “real world” verdict.

Is Panda Hybrid Bamboo mattress eco-friendly or sustainable?

In a word? Yes. But let's expand…

Every single ounce of bamboo fibre used in this mattress is sourced from approved and sustainable forests, where the bamboo trees grow pesticide-free.
No harmful chemicals were used in the production of this mattress (REACH, OEKO-Tex and CertiPUR certifications), and the foams (while they can't be reduced to the original plastic polymers) can be 100% recycled.

Box packaging mattress comes in is fully recyclable and is produced from a minimum of 80% recycled material. One Tr1be partnership ensures that every purchase contributes to rainforest conservation and helps offset some of the carbon footprint made by the company.

Overall impressions of the product after the testing

To say we were very pleased with what we experienced while testing the Panda Hybrid Bamboo mattress would be an understatement.

This almost-flawless mattress had us at “hello”, and the longer we spent testing it, the more we realised it wasn't just the bamboo fibres that made it so special.
Panda's top-notch craftsmanship and clever cooling and support tech resulted in one of the best mattresses we've ever had the pleasure of testing, and we can confidently say it's a bed worth every single penny.

Our rating: 9.8/10. It's worth it, but we had to cut half a point for pricing!
